I still want Mancini personally. He doesn't get enough credit for what he achieved and then left behind at City. Yes I know he had a bottomless pit of money which made winning the league considerably easier but his biggest success there was that he changed the entire mindset of everyone at the club and the perception long held about them.

As soon as he walked into Manchester he outright refused to be the seen as "little brother" club to United (which is same view many outsiders infuriatingly seem to have about us with Liverpool). He very publicly stood up to Ferguson and made it clear to the world that City were the new big boys in town and nobody was going to stop them, like it or lump it. That trickled down all the way to the the supporters, the first-team, the youth players and even the club staff. I'm desperate for a manager to come in and do that with us, to do away with this awful bridesmaid mentality we've had for the best part of two decades now. That whenever there's a big game it seems we just accept we're not going to win it because we don't ever win things, instead it's just about enjoying the day and maybe hoping we somehow fluke it. No, we should be thinking "we're winning this no matter who we're playing and screw everyone else". Mancini would bring that IMO.

He fights his and club's corner very publicly and makes sure they're both respected and feared, he has that bit of snarl about him that all winners have and that's what we're so sorely lacking on and off the pitch. And when things are bad there's non of this wishy-washy crap that we're getting off Martinez who refuses to accept something is broken. If you're not going to fight to be the best or have a strop then you're thrown out on your arse, Tevez and Balotelli being examples.

First and only post I plan on making...

How confident is @The Esk regarding his claims of a decision already being made and Martinez told he will be gone end of season?

He seems very certain, and could look very silly if what he claims is going to happen doesn't happen
Good of you to use your 'first and only post' to question the reliability of a respected member.

That was time well spent.

I reckon you've answered your own question mate.

Esk isn't one for too much silliness and wouldn't be putting it out there if he had any doubt.

The Esk is hanging his future reputation on the outcome. It could be a very uneasy few weeks for the man, we shall soon see if he's as good as his word and if he is, we can follow him to the promised land. Don't let us down lid.

Almost as silly as someone taking the time to sign up to a forum to proclaim they are only going to post once

They must surely announce his departure before the Norwich game, that way he'll get a half decent send off, if it's not announced, well that final walk around the pitch could be done to an empty stadium and no one deserves that, imho after the Sunderland game will be the time.

Now hearing Van Gaal to stay at United. Even an outside chance of Mourinho coming here? Or am I in dreamland?
