Ronald Koeman has dampened speculation that he is interested in the vacant manager's position at Everton by saying that he is staying with the south coast club.

The Dutchman is heavily linked with a switch to Goodison Park in the wake of Roberto Martinez's departure from the club and reports that he could be tempted to Everton led the back pages this morning.

Koeman was asked about his contract situation and his future by the press at his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend's final games in the Premier League.

"I am manager of Southampton, everyone knows I have one more year of my contract," Koeman said. "What I said last week when I got [asked] the same question about future is that we will sit together and analyse this season and talk about the future. That's what the news is today."

Asked outright if he would be staying as Saints boss, Koeman, who is on record as saying that at the least he would see out his three-year deal with Southampton, simply stated: "Yes."

Another man mentioned more by the media than supporters in connection with the Goodison hotseat, Mark Hughes, also played down talk of him replacing Martinez by committing his own future to Stoke City.

"I'm more than happy here and looking forward to next season," Hughes said. "We've a lot of good things going on and my job certainly isn't finished.

"I feel sorry for Roberto Martinez, who is a really engaging guy. Unfortunately for him, they have decided to go in a different way."
I'd believe Esk before I believe what comes out of his mouth. Am I right?

If you look at the history of football managers telling the press they are definitely not going anywhere when there's interest from superior clubs you'll see a pattern emerging...
