Comes across as an RM believer though.
Not a surprise really, he was mates with Martinez while he was at the club and RM gave him the job. Now he's been sacked and he wanted to make it clear there were no hard feelings between them.

No problem in that anyway, Martinez was a nice person. Not like Unsy was saying he played great football or was an amazing manager. In fact he sort of hinted that he didn't like Martinez's style when he said something along the lines of "the type of football we will try to play should give the crowd something to shout about".

Honestly, if Mourinho is unobtainum, I'd be very pleased with one of:

Koeman
Favre
De Boer
Emery
Blanc
Pellegrini
Deschamps

It might take a few weeks but I'm willing to be patient. Exciting times.

...Unsworth did well in his interview today.
Only an interview but like you thought he conducted himself in difficult circumstances. It's a big if, but if only he was given the chance a month ago. The way he spoke of the talent within the academy, we would surely have seen more of them given a chance in the first team, instead of the likes of piennar, Gibson and Ossie. Made a nice change to watch an Everton manager speak so openly and honestly. I haven't watched one in months, prior to today!!!

i hope youre right...and actually the decision might have already been made.

It's not just that though mate.

Even on their social media, they've produced vast amounts of content today - probably more than a whole week usually - to push yesterday's Club Statement right down.

Look at this for example

Someone goes through the archive in a decade and you'd have to know it was delayed due to Martinez getting sacked and not flooding / Zika virus / Mao rising from the grave.

Quick wave, two nice platitudes (sincere) from Unsworth to Martinez, nothing from the players, let's crack on. Love it.

No wonder we don't want Hughes. Now he's apparently bitter he's behind the Dutch boys in the queue.. Talk about how to endear yourself to your current employer (club).

.....the key unknown is what he would do in the transfer market. Colin Harvey is a prime example, brilliant coach at youth and first team level but so much is about bringing in the right players.
