He will not go to PSG - They have Blanc and I don't see a change there. Valencia have no wonga so he won't go there either. So where does that leave him?

A return to Real Madrid? - Nope they seem happy with Zidane

A return to Inter Milan? - Possibly - but I can't see him ousting Mancini a second time

AC Milan? - I thought about this as a possibility but given his connections with Inter and his friendship with Inters owner - I would say no

That now leaves Man Utd and little old Everton....

Looks like LVG will hang on in there for another year and there is strong opposition to him from powerful figures inside Old Trafford. They would like to see Giggs take over from LVG.

So if you take Mourinho at his word that he will return to management this summer then where else is left for him to go but to us!

Forza Jose!
Good post that except Valencia's owner is as rich as Moshiri.....but ye Jose wants to stay in England in the Prem.

Current odds on William Hill, for those interested. Sanchez Flores @ 6-1 is weird, haven't even heard his name being mentioned once.

And to suggest he might be no better than Moyes is just laughable.

I never said that. I was saying if he only managed to perform to the equivalent of moyles the press'd soon get bored of him.

For all his trophies, there aint no guarantee he's gonna bring success. If our players turned on him like they did martinez, or chelsea's did mourinho...

As many have said. Until its clear Jose is going to Man Utd, I'll have that hope. Realistically though, it looks like De Boer so far, of those who are available. If he goes to Spain (Valencia?) there's not much left that's available. Then we're into the realms of approaching clubs to see if they'll release their manager. And that is always tricky.

You get 5 players in at £15m and pay them how much exactly?

Then the next batch of players come in, and they see the others being paid so much, so their agents say: "Well 'x' is getting 'x' amount, my boy wants...."

And so on.

Except that our league placing increase if we add quality hence increasing income to pay better quality players. Thats gradual improvement and happening at every club in the world. The only way it could go tits up is having a manager who is not good enough and can't manage a club full of talent. Remember Martinez?

It's time to move away from kenwright era my friend.

I would suggest that Jose could in reality almost be a self-funding appointment and I ask learned posters like @The Esk @bizzaro @hibbo'sclass and others with better business acumen than I to confirm/rubbish/comment on the following musings...

If he came, season ticket sales would almost certainly go through the roof... Increased revenue.

If he came, a whole range of Jose/Everton merchandise would sell like hot cakes... New revenue.

If he came, our media coverage would immediately increase by a ridiculous percentage and we'd likely get more to games than currently planned... Increased revenue.

If he came, that very same massively increased media exposure could/would likely attract more corporate customers and advertisers... New and increase revenue.

If he came and if he had the same kind of instant trophy-winning success that he has had elsewhere, the cash till would go into overdrive with prize money, even more potential corporate, advertisers and sponsorship deals... More new and increased revenue.

Jose is a win-win and Everton need to be relentless in getting him !!!!
I would say it could be. We have commercial deals that I am sure the new regime will be looking to get out of. Look at Chelsea and there adidas deal.

The increased media attention alone would catapult us up the commercial ladder. And make Everton a more popular choice for sponsors and partners. This media attention will only happen with bold ambitious moves like appointing Mourinho.
