For those against FDB, who would you (other than Mourinho) like us to bring in?

With the exception of Mourinho, who ain't going to come here, that's a depressing list of candidates once you mull it over.

Some alternatives:

Lennon - Won as much as De Boer in a minor league
Howe - Evertonian. Has come up through the leagues, much like Moyes
Flores - Managed with some success in La Liga like Pellegrini and over-achieved at Watford in the Prem
LVG - If we really must go Dutch, there is no other candidate out there with a better record. Koeman's is gash in comparison.

We need to reassess, we really do.

I read that Milan is after Emery, no confirmation yet. Surely we are more competitive than Serie A. Where is Milan again over the past few years? Relatively better than us in a dead league isn't really that much better.

Because Steve McClaren once won the Dutch league? That is a pretty lazy comparison. Any other similarities between them?

I have major reservations about appointing managers on the back off success in other countries, especially those achieving success with the biggest clubs in far weaker leagues.

I can also just tell that the style of football used to win trophies in Holland won't be very successful in England. If we want to be successful in the Premier League then I think we should be trying to replicate the style of Leicester rather than Ajax imo.

Personally i feel Emery is top top manager and he belongs to the pipe dream list with Mourinho and with such as Löw.
If a miracle happened and we could persuade some of those names i would definitely take Emery before Mourinho. Definitely.

Apparently, he's more attainable than most think. Sevilla is not rich (negative net spend every year) and getting into UCL is getting harder for them. If they lose to Klopp, they will be in Europa.

Even Swansea and Milan have their eyes on him, why not us? Swansea?!?!?! Milan is just as bad given how bad Serie A is now.
