Just because you don't believe in something mean you should ridicule it. You don't believe it, sure. If we don't explore, we never know anything. I'm more for exploring different ambitious options. Something we haven't really tried since...the 80s?
No, but thinking we will take Arsenal's manager and club legend to be our DOF deserves ridicule. And I mean serious ridicule.
Stop it, no more from you.

If we're going for the hipster choice, I'd love to hear the argument against Howe.

He is on the up. Getting Bournemouth into the Prem was an amazing feat. Keeping them there playing the style of football they did and with the crippling injuries they had is impressive.

I can't understand why he's not in the mix.

An Everton supporter to boot. What's not to love?
I think most Evertonians would like a winner as manager.

You're just being very close minded. I wouldn't want to know your unambitious (1) choice either.

I can't help but notice you joined the forum the day we lost 4-0 to a certain side across a certain park?

...it's fine looking at trophies won but an additional good test is considering a managers record in the transfer market. Who have they brought and for how much. If the market values have increased you are looking at somebody who knows a good player.

I think we should re-incarnate Johan Cruiff and get Alex Ferguson as his assistant.

If that was scientifically possible, I'll try reincarnating Dixie. Then again, there are better and more reachable options.
