Yep, before today they had won 0 lost 9 drawn 9, haven't seen today's results.

Only for this year. His home form has been great, away form was good until this year. Perhaps their yearly sale of players catching up with them.

Not sure what Walker has to do with it, but I take on board you're not a fan of Howe.

It is the idea that a young manager has a bit of a good run with an unfancied team, and they are all of a sudden the next best thing. The league is littered with them.

Howe might be the real deal, and I have nothing against him. In fact he comes across as a nice bloke. And obviously capable.

But at this juncture in our history, when we have a realistic chance of landing an A List (ish) manager, would rather not blow that on a bloke with 1 season under his belt in a top league.

The thing is he doesn't come across as a nice bloke, he's pure middle management 'let's touch base' bollocks.

You're right, this is our only chance to get this right, and if we ended up with Eddie Howe that would be it for me, I'd start following Marine.

Wtf is with the Moyes back shouts? seriously?

Well you could ask yourself what is our current set up missing, and the answers would be organisation, fitness and fight from the players. Moyes could provide that and he would get us back up the table.

I'm all for aiming high and hopefully getting a manager better than Moyes, and I'm not championing the return of Moyes himself. But I don't think people realise just how much damage Martinez has done to Everton. And I would argue that our next manager needs to be more in the mold of Moyes (someone who brings organisation, fight and fitness) rather than someone who thinks poncing about with the ball is the way to go about winning games in the English Premier League, which is what I think we would get from someone like FDB.

Without wanting to offend any of the middle aged here, I have a theory. It's largely based on listening to my old man the past few days, but it seems to me that a lot of the 45/50+ bracket have a real small time mentality.

My dad would literally take any manager. He thinks we need ''an old head to pull us away from the drop''. He lived through the 80's too. I'm utterly baffled lol

Why are some so keen to appoint an utter no mark?
I'm in the 60+ bracket. I want no Mark Hughes, I want Dame Vera Lynn

Not sure, into two cup finals. Maybe he's more a cup manager than the league?

True, but I also try to judge based on the league. You can't break Barca/Real up without them in crisis, and its definitely more competitive than Serie A and France, so any slipups will be penalized.

Hey, worst case, he wins us the League or FA Cup. I think at least half of us will still be damn happy.

I'd take a trophy of course but they haven't challenged either Madrid or barca at all, their performance in the league is like Koemans for Southampton with a much smaller club tbh

He has though.
has he?

why should he do such a thing? the Everton are beneath him as a club and Lukaku would leave if he took over leaving you nowhere 2
without a paddle.
you do not become a billionaire owner of a football club by spending most of your money on the club, I see this is the case. Jose would demand hundreds of millions to build a team which would last a couple of seasons at best. Your owner does not have this money to burn, his money is all tied up in his business.

If we take a manager like Moyes, and his level of skills, that he has shown since he has left Everton, the number of managers that compare too him and even out better him, is totaly uncomprehensible.

Half the continents managers can be counted in, as a candidate then.

Tomato - potato.

Wtf

Howe is far too inexperienced at this point.

But my additional concern for him is how badly wrong it went for him when he nipped away from Bournemouth. He looks like th right man at the right place at the right time. Not necessarily sure he can replicate it elsewhere.

Yea, but his net spend is much smaller, like he's raking in money for the board! I think he's -100m net spend for his tenure. Plus those shiny cups!

My friend, you are utterly clueless about who we have been in talks with.

Clueless.

But, to humour you, the outside world would laugh at the idea that he would come here. That is true.

But, to educate you, we have had talks with him. Instigated by him.

Now, that could well be to force a decision from United, granted. Strange choice of club to choose to force their hand though, wouldnt you say?

He'll be hard to attract, but that is the point I guess. We want a winner, we better whip ourselves all the way till we get that man.
