Well you could ask yourself what is our current set up missing, and the answers would be organisation, fitness and fight from the players. Moyes could provide that and he would get us back up the table.

I'm all for aiming high and hopefully getting a manager better than Moyes, and I'm not championing the return of Moyes himself. But I don't think people realise just how much damage Martinez has done to Everton. And I would argue that our next manager needs to be more in the mold of Moyes (someone who brings organisation, fight and fitness) rather than someone who thinks poncing about with the ball is the way to go about winning games in the English Premier League, which is what I think we would get from someone like FDB.

Let's hope this 'in the mold of Moyes' does not include a losers mentality.

If it was the season that Moyes who had just left for United and BK was still calling the shots, than Eddie Howe would probably be the hot favourite.

But with Moshiri now in charge, hopefully we are now looking at managers who we could only dream about previously.

Don't get me wrong. If the next Skysport breaking news was "Everton appoint Howe" I would support him 100% and would actually be quite excited for next season having a fresh young manager in place.

Lets.

But there is a fine line between a supposed winners mentality and outright delusion.

Martinez supposedly had a winners mentality, harping on about going eye to eye with your opponent and talking about how Everton's objective should be to win the league. But it meant absolutely sod all when his teams had no organisation whatsoever and when his preferred style of football (the insane style) was never going to work in English football.

Describing Moyes tenure as a failure because he didn't win a trophy doesn't reflect the reality of his time at Everton either, imo. But that's another discussion.

I cannot believe some fans want Moyes back. This is the "settling for mediocrity" some fans were talking about. Why would we go back for Moyes. Yea he was a good manager for us when our transfer budget was peanuts, but we need to wake up and realise our potential or we will be stuck will being semi finalist for a decade.

Without wanting to offend any of the middle aged here, I have a theory. It's largely based on listening to my old man the past few days, but it seems to me that a lot of the 45/50+ bracket have a real small time mentality.

My dad would literally take any manager. He thinks we need ''an old head to pull us away from the drop''. He lived through the 80's too. I'm utterly baffled lol

Why are some so keen to appoint an utter no mark?
Ridiculous
I was born in 1955
I was there as an 11 year old in1966
I am as passionate now as I ever was
I am excited like that 11 year old boy at the potential mr Moshiri brings
I am fapping and windmilling all over house at the possibility of Mourinho and a fantastic new stadium and a £100 million player budget
Why on earth would you paint us all as small time mentality .... How dare you

Only about 1% have voted for Moyes. That's around the same percentage who are incapable of operating a keypad.
