...yes mate, but the argument that he DOESN'T is really quite sweeping isn't it.

He wins things.

I'm not arsed how.

It is, and I haven't argued it.

Not a big fan of the black & white arguments of the vast majority of football fans. The devils in the detail, and theres exceptions to every argument. Varane for example was at his best under Jose who brought him in at 18 or 19 and put him in straight away.

He does win things, I am arsed how though. Not a fan, and don't want him, but if he joined I'd support him.

I would be worried he might not be the guaranteed success that many think he will be. He is gotten more cantankerous and problematic than ever since he joined Madrid. Does some crazy things at times. Madrid are close to, if not the, biggest club in football and he managed treat the club with disdain (in fairness he was treated badly too) and I think he would have even less respect for us. Could end up bringing drama and problems and it all ending in tears.

Or it could be brilliant. Let's roll the dice.

That's a gamble I'd happily take TBH honest mate because it - purely as an appointment/purely as a chase - heightens everything.

The past as seen us poach from PRESTON & WIGAN...now we have a four-fold shortlist of elite names. Even just THAT makes a change.

I agree though dude, whoever it is....even if it's not our personal choice...we support, we have to...

I will admit to having similar concerns.

But, if the club is sold to him in the correct, and realistic way, the plans we have, apparently, might appeal to him as a football man.

Would be ace if that is that is the case.

It would be nice for somebody at the top level of football to actually take on a challenge rather than coast along on the top level constantly.

(Although if we have as much money as mentioned to spend, the challenge wouldn't be the toughest thing they could take on. That would be making Newcastle consistent, successful and likeable)
