It's way too risky, Especially as his first job. Clearly Arsenal turned him down for a reason. It would be one of the biggest gambles ever and I don't think that's what the club needs right now.

That's your opinion, fair enough.

But where are we gonna find this risk free new manager from? I'm not sure one exists tbh

Dont want Howe or Arteta

We need to go all out for a Wenger/Mourinho and if they tell us where to go then go for someone experienced but also no nonsense like Mancini or Biesla.

Ten Hag is the only "risk" manager I would be happy with.

Just hope Brands is better at picking managers than he is of signing players or it will be more of the same.

Mancini Jose and Wenger all risks. Bielsa definitely is too.

I can't see any risk free choices. I'm not sure one exists. Who is a concrete guarantee of success??

Every manager is a risk but Arteta is the riskiest of all risky, The only thing on his CV would be "worked with Pep for x years."
We could pull some Europa league managers imo, I'm sure some have a better CV and while they would be a risk too at least some would be experienced.

Pls not arteta. No managerial experience and a mr nice guy. It’s far too risky. Just because he sits near pep doesn’t make him pep.

We can’t afford another risky appointment.

All those mentioned Biesla aside have won trophies and league titles though - they are much less risky than the garbage we have appointed in recent years.

The media slated Wenger and Jose yet have OGS or Emery done any better? I would take both anyday especially Wenger if BK/Moshiri could get him in on a 2-3 year deal to steady us as he is more than capable of building a quality side thats easy on the eye - seems a decent bloke aswell apart from that daft coat he used to wear.

See this is what I think we will do, the Premier League is a big draw, I'm sure a manager from a european league might jump at the chance of coming here, well some would.

We need to stop keep sacking managers. If we have a ‘project’ we need to stick with it and realise it’s not something that can be achieved short term. Some of the shouts on here are unbelievable. Silva might not be everybody’s cup of tea but whomever came in had a huge task....certainly one that couldn’t be fixed in a season or two. The cycling of managers puts the whole club in a state of flux....good players avoid clubs with revolving doors.

Well we need to stop appointing crap ones then....the new manager doesn’t get a free ride because the previous three were also crap. All the people on here who want Silva to stay just give it the revolving door argument. Does anyone actually have anything positive to say about our progress under him or our style of play? How about his signings? No, let’s just keep him because we had to sack three guys before him...

Marcelino from Valencia, won them the Copa last year and they made consistent CL appearances, he may also be able to attract some players from Valencia as they all seem unhappy with the club atm

David Moyes
Chris Wilder
Eddie Howe
Phil Neville
David Unsworth

these will be the contenders for our next manager.

it is what we are

edit: and Sean Dyche of course

Heres our shortlist.

Spot on mate. Any new manager comes in would want is own players. So we would have to start the cycle again, then next year he could struggle. I want success as much as every blue does, but we have to give it time. Yeah been nearly 30 years since we won a trophy, but only last few years have we shown any ambition. Yeah we have had wrong appointments in key areas, like players and managers. But I am not surprised, because it’s the first time we have shown any ambition in a long time, so mistakes are going to made. Was always going to take time to right the wrongs. I’m behind silva and brands because they had a lot of mess to clean up and still do. We all will have different opinions on who is to blame and who should be in charge.
