No offence but Steve Mclaren would be trophy laden in Argentina.

Its a bum league.

Gallardo is and will always be a PES hipsters choice. The same zany types who want us to sign every 18 year old Moroccan superstar who do step overs on YouTube.

If he goes to a midtable Italian/Spanish/English/German team and has them qualifying for europe/winning trophies then by all means go for him as he will be alot more proven.

But chasing him now on the back of winning cup competitions in 3rd rate quality divisions is ludicrous. We have cocked up too many times we HAVE to get this next appointment right - no room for big gambles imo.

But this is coming from the lad who wanted to keep Silva for another few years

Clearly you dont rate Diego Simeone then...

Its not anyones fault but your own if you have a lack of knowledge on other leagues...or of a manager considered to be one of the best in the world.

Hows the Allegri appointment going?

I think he discounted him as "the hipsters choice" and probably called him a "bum".

I have to confess, ive never actually heard anyone being referred to as a "bum" before...

Very peculiar...

There does seem to be increasing reports linking us with Gallardo.
A gentle head of steam seems to be building behind his prospects, the kind that usually presages an appointment.
We will see......

Fingers crossed + would be appointed saturday. Worth sticking with Ferguson till then anyway i think...

His source told him Allegri was "gagging for it"

Either that or he was chatting utter jarg.

Extremely disturbing that Ferguson has gone from rank outsider to vying for favourite within 24 hours.

Indicates that the board may be struggling for candidates more than you think

Simeone is bossing it in a top division- not winning trophies and finishing mid table in a league of the quality of League One.

You're not taking into account the gulf in quality between the Premier League and the Argentinian league - until you take that into account you'll never grasp it.

Have a feeling that there will be a big statement appointment soon i think, maybe even this week. Big Dunc's language seemed to hint at him knowing something i.e only interested in the 1 game, not interested in doing it permanently at the moment, the club needs a top manager and he would love to work under him etc etc.

Fingers crossed anyway.
