There's a real danger that appointing Dunc will go along the same lines as Man Utd appointing Solskjaer. He'd lift the club with his passion short term but after the first few games you need more than passion. You need tactics, man management, the ability to attract the best new signings, coaching skills. I'm not saying he doesn't have those things but it's a risk to find out.
I guess those within the club would have an idea what he'd be like.

Get the likes of Leon Osman out of ambassadorial roles for the club. Another of the clique who want to bring losers like Moyes back and love putting the club down.

Would not mind but Osman was a championship player, just the best we could do with no money. Always a weak link unless we were playing a really inept team.

He wasn't at all. Had Osman have pace he'd have been a top top footballer but he definately had the brain. Had as good as close control of a ball than anyone we've had since.

That’s the trouble though isn’t it. He successfully manages Real Sociedad and we don’t get him, he moves beyond us.
Whoever we appoint will be a risk , the bigger the risk the bigger the potential rewards.
Gallardo has many of the requirements which Brands has mentioned in past interviews. More so than most of the candidates we are linked with.
Personally I would be excited to see him appointed he has most of the attributes I expect in an Everton manager.
I agree there is a risk but to get from where we are to where we would like to be we have to be willing to take these risks.
