I just think, especially in sport, we tend to think that we are living in the biggest, greatest, most competitive era ever.

Bobby Robson forgot more about football than most of us will ever know, and he said that you can talk about systems and styles as much as you like. But the real key is having good players, and then setting the side up in a way that gets the most out of them.

You can have the best strategy in the world, but it counts for nothing if youdo not have the men to make it work.

Well, his strategy, years ago was to play (hope) for a draw, it will still be the same then I presume. And also, we do not have the players to make it work, Moyes is old news mate.

But we are in a similar position to they both were when he went there. And no, he didn't always "do a job". He nearly took us down.
We are not in a similar position.
Everton is totally different to those clubs.
And we didnt get relegated (as bad as 03/04 was) and he did do " a job."
But look, I don't want him back but you can't deny the safe job he did here with little and no money at times.

We most certainly do.

He had 11 years here and didnt do an utter bean, theres NOTHING to be gained from giving him another go.
Think that’s a bit OTT, but I agree wholeheartedly on the last part.

He nearly took us down.
He really didn’t. The season we finished 17th we were never in genuine danger. A horrendous run right at the end dropped us down the table and made the final position look more precarious than it actually was

Ive spoken loads of times about what Moyes did at the time mate, yes I was being flippant, he took us from near the bottom to near the top, I will never forget what he did here. But his goal was to get to 40 points every season, once he had a springboard, something to build from he couldnt build, I know we didnt have the money to push on, but he defo has a glass ceiling.

Since he left us hes took the league Champions to 6th, lasted 5minutes in Spain, took Sunderland down and only kept West Ham up cos the 3 relegated teams were poo.

I agree but feck me that season was grim.

He changed our team to regular relegation scrappers to champions league and europa league qualifiers with no money. Show a bit of appreciation.

Without doubt David Moyes splits the Everton fan base like no other former manager. You can't even sit on the fence with him!!
