NFL 2023 season

The best contract the Steelers ever had prior to Lamar's was Flacco signing his monster extension following his miracle run.

We can't get our house in order to take advantage so it won't matter. But between Burrow at a monster contract or Lamar I know who I'd take
Lamar having good offenses with guys who can barely make a roster after they leave or Burrow having Chase and Higgins…

I mean you watch Miles Boykin every week. He was the number two receiver in a year Lamar won MVP!

The Ravens will not because Lamar has had them winning before this season with the worst weapons in the entire league. They’ll be fine. Whether they get over the hump who knows.
The whole Ravens offense is built around Lamar. O Line, good tight end, and one guy to stretch the field. It's built for him to run and throw to wide open receivers either through scheme or when plays break down

The problems will come if they can't hold onto their linemen. I do agree, generally, he doesn't nee elite weapons to be successful

Maybe it's just because I've seen Lamar play a lot from being in his division, but there's a reason why he struggles more against us and others in the division. We see him more and know how to stop him relative to one off games against worse teams - he feasts on that.

But Lamar's numbers, against good defenses is night and day vs bad defenses. And more so than other good QBs vs good defenses.

Stanley is cooked, and Moses is very average. Tackle is about to be a major concern.

The reason he struggled against Pittsburgh this year was no one caught the ball. He didn’t struggle against Cincy or Cleveland at all.

All the narratives around Lamar are really pretty tired at this point. The guy’s really good. I wish he’d get over the hump in a big game but the team wasn’t prepared yesterday and imo he did a reasonable amount to almost overcome it. I have no doubt the Ravens will be relevant for awhile yet. It’s just about reaching the summit.

Why did he not just use his legs instead of waiting for receivers who were simply not getting open yesterday

What was he trying to prove ?

There is no doubt he was better this season than prior seasons. I'll give you that.

We shall see if it's a one off or whether he keeps it going next year. NFL defenses catch up. Even on guys like Mahomes - he struggled last year as defenses weren't letting him scramble and kept him in the pocket. He's come through that a better QB. Jury's out whether Lamar can adapt

Mahomes knows we are in cap trouble and he is going to have to be more of a game manager going forward if he wants more success. I just don’t see us improving the weapons once Kelce retires especially.

To his credit Mahomes has done just that and has become ruthlessly efficient in a more limited way. He can still bring the dagger when required of course but it’s not the constant air assault stuff of years past now.

I’m not sure it really is, and this is obvious to me because I’m closer to it, but what he did to win games as a rookie versus 2019 versus 2021 versus now are all very different.

Teams are going to keep throwing blitzes at him (and Monken) and they’ll have to fix that but I don’t really doubt that he’ll improve.

So what happened ?
There were plays he scrambled and trying to fit the throw was the better play so he threw it. There were at least a couple of scrambles he didn’t throw it and should have. It’s hard to see downfield on TV, but one run he had Odell and just missed it. Wasn’t a bad play anyway, but what you’re saying didn’t really happen.
