Love Fields was where the Kennedys landed on the morning of 22 November 1963.
This Bears draft has all the hallmarks of a similar tragedy.

Goes back to fretting about Aaron Rodgers.

I think Fields is ok for Chicago, but their history of trading up and picking QBs is regrettable.

*pedantic correction: it was Love Field, and still, and is where the US carrier Southwest is based, which also trades under the ticker LUV.

Been watching lots of youtube clips of Bears fans/analysts going nuts for the Fields trade/pick. Hope he turns out as good as people think. Watching some of the coverage, it's crazy how long Chicago have gone without a top QB. 1 Pro Bowl since 86 or something like that? And not much from 50 until then? Crazy! :(

Bears QBs have been atrocious. Cutler probably makes their top-3 since 1980... how terrible is that? McMahon was good and could be great at times, Harbaugh was a serviceable NFL starting QB. Everyone else has been utter tripe.

Very funny rather than regrettable.

Yes, I know, but then the joke wouldn’t have worked would it. And really, it was a great joke. One of the best. Hysterical. And now you’ve spoilt it. I hope you can live with yourself.

Fields instantly goes into our top 3 since sid luckman without even playing a game!
I'm ecstatic!
Hopefully still saying that in 2 years

Chase first WR off the board, exciting depressingly predictable pick for the bengals
I'm not disputing he's the best WR in this year's draft, but Cincinnati already has Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Auden Tate forming a decent stable of WRs. Not much point loading up with a stack of wideouts if the QB is getting hurried and hit on every single play.

At #5 Sewell was a legitimate candidate as Best Player Available (admittedly Chase was the other obvious candidate) and would have filled a position of immediate and urgent need. Chase, on the other hand, is a luxury. The Bengals now HAVE to take the best OL available with their second pick, probably a Guard. But the morons in the Front Office will go for a running back or a TE.

There is still plenty of starting calibre OL men available, they should pick one up tonight. Surely not daft enough to go another route

There are a couple decent tackles who didn't go last night. They might be able to come out of this alright so long as they actually pick linemen now and those players don't stink like past attempts have.

Carolina: has best RB in the league
Needs: could use OL help
Trades: the 2nd round pick to Bears, who take arguably the best run blocker in the draft at that spot
Great: jerb

I dunno if Fields will be good, heck I dunno if Lawrence will be. However they didn't pay out of the nose for Fields and I really don't think anyone would be shocked if Teven is the best OL from this draft. They cleaning up this year.

Steelers can't block but go RB.

Jags go RB right after.

I'm not on the never pick a RB level of analytics but these don't feel like the best use of first rounders.

1 more year of meathead. RBs have traditionally adjusted to the NFL quicker than almost every other position so there is more of a chance for instant impact. Plus he is good. Assuming rookie/year 2 player next year at QB, steelers will have Claypool, Harris and a rookie contract QB for the next 4-6 years.

OL is deep, plus one of those needs are Center and they always go later in the draft. That being said I was really hoping Teven Jenkins would have fell in the 2nd.

Eitenne is a good pick, can catch, run and run block. The team that really really needed him tho, the Bills.
