2nd fewest according to that and the majority being individual player 4 game suspensions. I was talking about orgazational penalites like video-taping, tampering, etc. I know the patriots aren't the only team but the fact their violations have mostly occurred when they've been in/won SBs grates on people.
Does it really upset you that the Patriots won this years Super Bowl ? It grates you that they played the 1st half of the Colts game with a few balls slightly under inflated ? I mean really, come on now. Just out of curiosity what was the score of the game ? More importantly what was the score of the 2nd half when balls of the correct PSI were in play ?

Seems to me that the Colts, who were well and truly embarrassed 45-7 are looking for any excuse possible to push the attention away from their horrible display. D'Qwell Jackson (colts linebacker), the man who picked off Brady in the first half and the man responsible for the investigation, brought the ball to the sideline as a souvenir, didn't even realize the ball was below the NFL regulation PSI. This is a guy who has handled footballs his entire career from high school, college, and pro. If the ball was underinflated and such a problem, then surely it would be noticed by the professionals handling the balls, no ? He didn't even know about the issue until days later and when asked about it in an interview he had this to say.

"It wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game," Jackson said. "They outplayed us. We didn't match their intensity. I don't feel slighted at all personally. They created turnovers, they ran the ball on us. They won that game because of their intensity -- not the pressure of a football."

Hasn't it come out recently that some of the colts balls were underinflated too ? Noticed that the colts are remaining very quiet and keeping a low profile about this.

I never said anything about his phone, I agree he shouldn't have to release it due to privacy reason. You honestly think the two locker room guys just randomly decided to start deflating balls on their own and made those texts up? I think the whole media storm is blown out of proportion due to Brady's stature but him being a HoF should have nothing to do with a punishment. That being said it'll probably be reduced to 2 games anyway. My point with responding to your post comparing it to past suspensions is that just because the NFL was woefully incompetent with suspensions in the past doesn't mean they should continue to do so.
Well they will certainly now have to hand out the game suspensions fitting of the crime. They've now set a standard.

If 4 games suspension is fitting to that of a few slightly under inflated balls, then it will be interesting where the league go from here to much much MUCH worse offences in the future. Even if it gets overtuned to 2 games.

We are talking about footballs with a miniscule of air released; The professionals and refs in the game couldn't tell the difference. If this is a 2 game suspension, then i want to see season long suspensions for helmet to helmet hits etc...

Lets throw in a bit of controversy here. Don't you remember back in February and the rumours doing the rounds that the colts had let air out of the ball themselves ?

11 of the 12 Patriots offensive balls were underinflated according to the findings. 10 of those 11 were only ever so slightly underinflated and 'within range' of NFL regulations to football PSI. The one ball that was surposedly significantly underinflated ?!?! Yep, the ball that colts linebacker D'Qwell Jackson intercepted and brought to the colts sideline as a souvenir. Hmmmmmm

not this year no. I thought the whole time this "deflategate" was blown out of proportion especially considering it was a blowout and blount ran all over the colts which wouldnt be affected by the ball. I said it "grates on people" in reference to the general public. the only one that "grated" me was the video-taping in the past. the balls in the super bowl were fine so I have no qualms over that

along this line, here's a t-shirt you might dig.

Patriots will take a while to shake the "culture of cheating" image they have now though

They've essentially turned themselves into the Ric Flair of the NFL

The dirtiest players in the game

The Club and the NFL today announced that agreement has been reached for a minimum of two NFL games per year to be played during a 10-year partnership at our new stadium in London.
The state-of-the-art stadium, due to open in the summer of 2018, will feature a retractable grass field with an artificial surface underneath that would be used for NFL games. This innovative field will add greater flexibility in the scheduling of games, with the NFL having its own playing surface for games held at the venue. This field will be multi-use and capable of hosting other sporting, entertainment and community events.
Both sports will have dedicated facilities ensuring that the new stadium, designed with a focus on atmosphere, will deliver the optimum experience for both teams and fans. It will be one of the most environmentally sustainable in the UK and also include a clear focus on accessibility via public transportation.
“With growing enthusiasm for the NFL in the United Kingdom, we are committed to hosting NFL games in world-class venues and are excited to partner with Tottenham Hotspur to play games at their future stadium,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “We share a vision and commitment to creating the best experience for our teams, fans and the local community.”
The stadium is part of the Northumberland Development Project which sits at the heart and is the flagship scheme and catalyst for world-class regeneration in North Tottenham that spans over 130 acres and delivers significant benefits for the local community.
The Club will shortly be releasing images and details of the updated designs it has made to both the stadium and the wider scheme.
In addition to the minimum of two games per year at the new Tottenham site, other NFL games may take place at different venues in the UK during the span of the 10-year agreement.
"We have an opportunity now to deliver one of the most unique sports, leisure and entertainment venues in the world, bringing together the EPL and NFL for the first time,” said Daniel Levy, Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur. “The socio- economic benefits this will bring to the area will be immense and demonstrates our commitment to the regeneration of this priority borough in London.

This surely makes it easier to set up a London franchise?

That's not the plan, but thanks for the thought. It'll happen about when NYCFC joins PSG and Barca in the World Champions League. Spurs just adding revenue streams to the package for the new stadium. Next they'll be booking the Grateful Dead for the "resurrection" tour.

If I was a Spurs fan, I'd be smiling.
