I heard they're cutting Rob loose today. About half a season late, but...

Welocme to the "rebuilding" column, SN. Sorry about the birth certificate on your QB. Other than that, he's pretty boss.

Thanks for beating the Colts back then. That meant a lot to us down here. We're not Colts fans so much around these parts.

I didn't see any news yet, but I will keep the hope. Really disappointed with the transition in styles and hope we get someone back who orchestrates a pressure defense. That's what was great with the Dome Patrol (collapsing the pocket) and the Gregg-with-two-G's Williams bounty D (creating turnovers). The former Saints weren't good enough to be the 49ers and the rest (although the NFC was very tough then), but the Drew Brees offense is essentially a ball-control/possession offense, the NFL's Barca. At some point Sean or Drew thought they had built a Brady-esque high powered offense when really it's a Lance Armstrong high-gear offense. Without the constant defensive pressure, the offense is stuck in the wrong gear.

Of course it remains to be seen whether Brees is healthy and how much tread is left on his tires, but I'm glad to get out of the contain defense that Ryan has setup.

Will defer to @canuckblue for other thoughts on this as well.

Bountygate aside, that Williams defence was one of the highest-scoring defences in recent memory. Now it seems we have traffic cones in black and gold jerseys back there, especially in the secondary, which I honestly felt had been upgraded with the acquisition of Browner and the return to health of Jairus Byrd. As for the offence, losing Robinson hurt, but I'd still like to see Spiller get more touches. We don;t seem to miss Grham as much as I thought we would -- Hill and Watson are doing their share -- but after Cooks and Colston (who's nearing the end of his career), we're thin at wideout (Snead's OK, but we really miss the likes of Lance Moore, Kenny Stills and Robert Meacham). And Brees will need replacing in the not-too-distant future -- for now, he needs to roll out of the pocket a bit more to open up passing lanes. He's too short to simply drop back.
But no one will ever, EVER, take Feb. 7, 2010 away from me.

EDIT: It's official. Ryan has been sh!t-canned. About a year and a half too late, but better than never. Dennis Allen is now the DC.

My Bears won in convincing fashion today.

Unfortunately got off to too bad of a start, but nice that we are least respectable this year after last year's debacle.

It's the worlds most unlikely play off run mate (which the Manning-less Broncos will probably kibosh this Sunday).

Even Cutler is playing well - which is a sentence nobody has heard in the english language before. Special teams needs to sort itself out and the D needs to make some more big plays but it's all looking good. The coaching is night and day to what we had last year. Injuries to our WRs, to our offensive line and we've still maintained standards. Even starting to get some sack production from Lamar Houston and Willie Young.
A few free agents and a good draft next year ( maybe see what our Kevin White can do) and we can make a run at the play offs. Provided someone knocks Aaron Rodgers head off.

Bear down.

As a Pats Fan who endured terrible years, moved to AZ in time to watch bandwagon Bears fans gloat that Super Bowl demolition, endured being surrounded by one legit and dozens of bandwagon cheeseheads a decade later, I'm enjoying the hell out of the last 15 years.

All the haters whinging about the Pats just makes me enjoy it that much more.

Oh, and everyone's team cheats.

We're "overinflating" (har har) an issue so minuscule that the league which strictly enforces what gear you can wear AFTER a game didn't have set procedures on it, and fined two other clubs $25k for the same thing they can't prove the Pats did did so to divert attention from girlfriend beaters, wife beaters, child beaters, PED abusers, and the big one, concussions.

Enough about the Cowboys already!

Blake 'Raise your' Bortles vs Marcus 'The Flyin Hawaiian' Mariota.

Love Marcus but it's time to (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ RAISE YOUR BORTLES (☞゚ヮ゚)☞

Jags to the Playoffs. Anyone but you Colts.
