Sherm is a muppet sometimes...doesn't know how to get out of the way of his mouf...however, there is no doubting that he is top notch at his position. Any press is good press for a Cornerback...massive payday ahead for him which will be enhanced by him big mouf...Deion Sanders comes to mind

Well I'd say that was more of SF throwing away an opportunity rather than Seattle outright winning it. Apparently the Sherman doesn't know the difference.

I'm guessing he'll find out in the Super Bowl as the Seattle D line isn't gonna get anywhere near Manning and the Seattle secondary doesn't have the chops to cover D. Thomas, J. Thomas, Welker, & Decker. Someone is gonna have a big game against them. Wilson's a good QB for Seattle but no chance he matches Manning play for play.

I'll predict Denver 27 - 14 Seattle

Gonna disagree with you there mate...Manning is notorious for turning the ball over in the post season...it's his achilles heal...Sherm may be a muppet...but the Pats D ain't the Seahawks D...I'm not guaranteeing a win for my boys, but the best defenses in the NFL just played each other. Seattle's O will likely look 100% better versus the boys from Denver

...and the Denver O isn't the SF O either.

Like I said. Seattle's back four are gonna have a hard time. They haven't seen anything like Denver's O all year and they're not going to be able to key on one or two players.

Not sure how Seattle's O will look 100% better but I'll give you that they'll need to be 100% better to match the Bronco's juggernaut.

rooting for Seattle just because i have a lot of friends from there... but this would otherwise sum it up:

Should be cold weather. Plus in the playoffs the DBs can be much more physical. However the denver D is good against the run and their weakness (pass D) maybe offset by Seattle's avg passing offense.

I think Seattle wins but its going to be a good game.

I'll be curious as to what the line will be.

I'm guessing Denver favored by 2.5 but wouldn't be surprised if it's a push.

What a brilliant day. My favorite player gets to the Superbowl (Manning is the best player to play the game, ever) and my favorite team also gets there. Seahawks/9ers was a great game, and Sherman is a fantastic player. Im sure Crabtree was mouthing off to him the whole game and when that last play ended he for sure said something to Sherman to kick him off. But all he needs to do is just let his talent do the talking, he has so much of it. No need to mouth off like that (although it was great to see the insanely hot Erin Andrews handle him the way she did)!

Red S*** draw, United lose, now all I need is a result tomorrow. COYB.

Really enjoyed watching both these matches. I'm paying for it today though!

Whilst I've happily watched American Football on the TV for many years I happily admit to being pretty ignorant of many parts of the game.

For example, why don't more teams go for the on-side kick more for the re-start? What are the typical stats for this?

Presumably because if they didn't recover the ball (likely) they'd be conceding way too much ground to the opposition.

Yeah probably - it's just I've seen a lot done recently and for some reason I thought the stats were close to 50:50. Giving up possession on the 50yr line say as opposed to what a normal starting point might be for the opposition? Of course I know I'm wrong - just curious!
