I would imagine having a player like Iwobi who is right footed and is not a natural defender picked ahead of you , and then the game after that you see Delph picked ahead of you, I would imagine that's not doing his confidence any good.

Yeah but when he came he wasn't signed for the first team so don't see why he'd be to bothered. He's playing and training with the first team which is a bonus for him if anything.

Yeah am fine with that. His career wont hinge on the fact he's not been in the squad since the Newcastle game. He had a couple good games in the league cup and people are acting as if he could be out savour at left back. He's played against a team who are just as bad as Burnley and we got beat. Why wreck his confidence and keep putting him in a team that's underperforming?

I can understand if he’s not ready for the senior squad. Fair enough if that’s the case. But he’s not even getting time with the U23 team. If you sign a promising 19 year old, shouldn’t he be playing for someone? Whether it’s on loan or the U23s?

I always thought he was brought in as back up to Digne because Baines was stepping down, if he wasn't then why didn't we go out and buy a left back as cover for Digne.

This is the thing...very short sighted. He was signed for the 23's and isn't ready for first team football,yet we still needed actual back up for Digne. So now people are loses their minds over the fact he's not playing when in essence he was never signed for the first team.

Because he haven't got adequate back up for Digne. Look at what was said when he first signed. Brands said he was to play for the 23's.

But he isn’t back up for Digne is he? Just about anybody else in the squad is backing up Digne. Playing Delph, an injury prone, over the hill, one paced central midfielder as a left wing back, in one of the most physically demanding positions on the field. That was always going to end in tears, I’m surprised he lasted as long as he did. But yeah, don’t play Nkounkou, he was signed for the 23’s.

It’s funny how asking for the bare minimum is detrimental to the club. The ‘fans are the issue’ excuse only goes so far. We aren’t even allowed to boo them in person. Such a flaccid excuse at this point. Carlo isn’t playing him to his own detriment.
