I think Mirallas is unsure what to do on the right with less space to manoeuvre under Martinez. Under Moyes we played deeper more often than not, and so when going forward Mirallas had time and space in one-on-one situations. With Martinez we build up slower which can kill the space, which ,although is working for the team, stifles Mirallas' ability to run at a man and beat him with pace. He has had one or two good performances in more open games, such as Chelsea and Liverpool. What's noticeable about this is that the Chelsea game he played up top and looked a real threat. Can see Martinez bringing in Ince and Mcgeady, for example, and deploying Mirallas as a striker. He could be great up there for us.

Can't believe we got all the money back. Leg it to the bank with it Bill.

Even if he does come good elsewhere it means no regrets about this deal. *shrugs*

Mogwai say "bye-bye Niki..."

agree mate the style of play doesn't suit Mirallas's game IMO, I would prefer to see him in a free role behind the striker or up top like you say

So, the real question is lads, do we go for that main striker now, bearing in mind how useful Lukaku has proved to be off the bench, or do we pick up 1 or 2 to see us through - just - and save it for the summer??

Would go for the first myself like, real chance of 4th and Lukaku doesn't need 1st team football - he's a loanee.

Think well see a winger and cm this window as well, and then Mcgeady to take over from delboy in the summer when he goes back (idk if he will stay another year, hope so!).

I don't mind him going, I just hope we have someone lined up to come in, if not, it's a bad decision to sell. I suppose he might not even go, look what happened with heitinga and west ham.

Hopefully we will bring someone else in, possibly one of the; difficult to spell, triple word score players we have been linked with, like Finnagbossen or Batshuayi
