Same here Goat. Thought I was getting over it till he put out that letter today. F*cking love the man, gave me some great memories. He'll get an ace reception when (if?) he returns

Tim Cahill was a massive reason Jelavic was that player then. His game completely changed after he left.

If Hull use him correctly with the right support, they've got a bargain, but if they use him to channel run and drop deep, then he'll be wasted.

Long is a smart signing if they plan on using both - he's a runner, Jelavic is a poacher. They could get a lot of goals there.

What slots... if you were a Hull fan and that's all you'd seen of him, you'd be doing cartwheels.

You say that, but if you notice, its Felli thats behind him when he scores most of the goals.

Fellaini was slightly deeper, Cahill played that season behind the striker. Fellaini came on from deep like McCarthy now and took the high balls in wide areas, Cahill did all the channel running - Jelavic was a poacher who stayed central, which you can see in all his goals there. His role dramatically changed after the summer of 2012.

Jelavic is a top poacher but a poor forward; best way I can describe him.

Cahill was certainly a pest, but Jela actually stopped being a poacher, he became a walking offside machine.

The change will do him good, I hope he scores a hatrick every game, I wish him nothing but the best of luck.

Was a loan not a possibility? I get that we've done some excellent business here in getting that much for an out-of-form striker, but if all he wants is playing time before the world cup, you would think a loan move would be ideal. It would also mean he can't play / score against us, which I'm a little terrified of.

I'll miss the guy, showed signs of his former self in the QPR highlights (couldn't find a game broadcast), and I think he'll do well for Hull.

To be honest looking back I think the injury he picked up against Newcastle when he injured himself going for a finish was when his confidence got knocked, before that he still seemed like the same old Jelavic.

Martinez clearly stated that was not the case as he wanted funds to acquire a replacement.

A minute and 17 seconds? That's very a very generous editor. ...20 seconds would have sufficed.
