I thought he had a fairly poor game today also, my mate didnt agree, but he was still a 1000% improvement on Saha.

I thought he looked good today, but you could tell that 3 games in 8 days had done him in. Despite that he showed some really good touches like the one to pienaar and his movement is quality. I think we've got a player on our hands.

his bit of play to set up pienaar was great, but his first touch let him down a lot of times today, 6/10, at times he was boss, at others he looked like saha

For someone as prolific as he was (yes Scotland is far worse than the MLS but still) picking him up for that price was an incredible piece of business. I think he is a better fit on this squad than Demba Ba would have been.

His finishing was poor in good positions but his link-up play & ability to turn defenders created several opportunities or built attacks. That he has this aspect to his game is hugely encouraging, as when he's having an off day (like today) he still contributes massively to our play. Will be Berbatov-esque (but with greater workrate) once he finds some consistency with his finishing. Looks a steal at £5m already.

He showed some good moments where he linked up quickly with Pienaar et al, not his best game though.

if he learns what Saha has forgot then he will be a great player.

I only saw the second half but thought he played well. A number of good touches and got into some good positions. Forced a save with a header that had no right to be on target considering his starting position and as mentioned his touch to play in Pienaar was sublime. It reminded me of Torres playing in Gerrard to score against us in the original 2009 cup tie.

He done some good pieces of link up and he was far from terrible but was sloppy too often.

He's set a high standard I suppose.
