This.

He hasn't said anything that isn't true or that 99% of Evertonians weren't saying themselves last season. In fact, we were probably the most negative team in the whole league. People having a go at him for what he has said need to have a word with themselves. Nothing is really untoward. As far as I can tell he hasn't slagged off the club or the fans or our manager.

He isn't good enough for us this season; if he was here he'd have had as much game time as Kieran Dowell. So he went on loan and it's great to see him doing well. At the end of this season he still has 3 years left on his contract. If Silva decides to keep him in the summer, he will do as he did with Lookman this summer. If not, his form with CSKA will only increase his value when we come to sell him.

Remember he only turned 21 last week so is still very young for a playmaker. Croatia produce some cracking midfielders and if this lad develops into one then that could be fantastic for us.
The point is he has said stuff like tipping the RS to win the CL and saying only the top 6 play good football either to take a shot at Everton or because he is too stupid to realize that it is a shot at Everton and either way I don't think he should be coming back to the club. Has he directly said anything negative about us? Technically no but you're kidding yourself if you think the negative stuff that you can very easily find by reading between the lines a bit wasn't most likely intentional.

This all over, exactly my thoughts.

Would anyone really be opposed to him coming back next year, and taking up a Morgan sized slot in our squad if he continues to rip it up.

The way i see it, he sat down with the manager wanted more starts, the manager said he couldn't gaurentee that and compromised on a loan for his development. That doesnt mean Silva doesnt rate him and it also doesnt mean that he binned us off. Fair play to the lad for backing himself. Similar to Lookman last year, i admire that in a player instead of being content to pick up a wage. Missing out on Croatia in the summer would have been a toal kicker for the lad.

I don’t dispute he may be factually correct (although I disagree that we are defensive these days), but for me personally an Everton player shouldn’t really be bigging them up.

Over rated.

Never ever saw the fascination in this lad.

We’d never have signed him or even heard of him if we hadn’t been drawn against Hadjuk Split.

i didn't even notice him when he played against us tbh. He still has time, i mean bringing him and onyekuru back next summer whilst splashing out on a top striker would be our attackers sorted imo. That does leave no place for dowell, who for me, would probably have to be sold. I wouldn't be gutted if vlasic was sold tbh, he didn't anything special here, but i'd like to see him in pre-season first.

exactly, compare that to loftus-cheek for example.

I'm probably in a minority here, but I couldn't care less what he has or hasn't said while he's on loan. In many ways I admire the fans who care about that stuff now. For me the romance of the game has long gone. It probably went after Rooney left the first time. I now fully accept most of the players don't care about the club or the fans, and in truth increasingly most fans are extremely fickle in turning on players too. It's a business and you ultimately have a business relationship now with most of the players where you hope they do a good job for your team.

Thats very much my mindset. He can like who he wants in his spare time, it's not ideal but I am not too bothered. I also don't think he's wrong, Klopp's Liverpool play some very good attacking football and I can see why a lad from Croatia would admire that.

We have to factor in, I don't think Vlasic has been treated particularly well by the club either (albeit with the caveat all players are rewarded in a grotesque manner). He chose us over other European sides, was one of our better players, then the manager went and Allardyce bombed him out and brought him back intermitently often out of position. We ultimately didn't do enough to get the best out of him, though I accept there is some question as to whether that was realistic.

I think it's very open as to whether he comes back or not. It doesn't look as if he's sulked as much as Lookman did over the summer and there is some suggestion Silva was very disappointed he wanted to leave. I can imagine his form, which has been exceptional away will have certainly perked some interest. I suspect Silva will be keen to reintegrate him, hopefully into a more secure, less transitional squad which might allow him to be given more opportunities.

Of course the lad himself may not want that. Much like Lookman didn't. However I think we've shown under the new regime we have been clear that we will stand firm on offers for talented young players. So watch this space I suppose.

The truth is, ask most Evertonians now, if Lookman starts to turn in performances similar to the one on Sunday, who will care what he says? It's a fickle industry now.
