2018/19 Nikola Vlasic

Because we are turning to the likes of DCL and Niasse to change games for us, when we could have him in and around the starting eleven.
You just named two strikers mate, and vlasic is a midfielder. The main player were going to at the moment to change games is lookman, who’d be the main reason that vlasic wouldn’t be seeing any game time at all.

Cska have been playing him through the middle like.

Think Vlasic fits back into the side perfectly if Silva plays the 3-1-2/diamond 4-2.

Instead of having a focal point in the centre (CF), it has to rely on movement and rotation
which really plays into the strengths of players like Sig, Rico, Vlasic and Lozano (hypothetical).
The high press doesn't suit a static position.
Basically a CF is a waste unless subbed to take advantage of certain situations.

Vlasic as an attacking pivot is probably better than Sig.
Sigs strengths are more box to box.
I can see many goals from Vlasic to Sig, ghosting into the box, or on the counter where Sig has the drive, skill and pace to counter from deep.
Having the focus off Sig through the centre allows Sig the freedom to become much more effective.
Vlasic could potentially be as good a foil for Sig as anyone.

With Digne and Coleman/Kenny providing width, its up to Gomes and Vlasic/Sig to orchestrate scoring chances for Rico, Sig/Vlasic and Lozano.
I reckon as an attacking set up, in two to three seasons, these guys have the potential to be as good as anything in the league (with Lookman, Bernard, a CF and another DM./l;. as back up):

Rico----------------------Lozano
--------------Vlasic----------------
Sig----------Gana-------Gomes

We clearly don’t have amazing options from the bench and I would prefer him to be a part of our squad as opposed to being farmed out on loan and getting a taste of a new club who turn his head a la Lookman.
We have a full team out and we'll have a bench of Baines, Keane, Davies, Bernard, Lookman and DCL. No better bench outside of the top 6 and Vlasic, if he was sill here, would struggle to get on it. Vlasic, if he was still here, most likely wouldn't have hit the form he's showing in Russia because he wouldn't have been playing. It's a catch 22 mate. Vlasic, even in his current form, would not have been getting in the team ahead of Siggy or Gomes.

Decision has been made to end him on loan and I'm pretty certain that Vlasic was, himself, a big part of that decision. He's doing great. I'm sure he would rather be where he is now than sitting in our bench at best.

..important to remember that Silva had Vlasic and Mirallas training with the youngsters. It suggests Silva isn’t a fan of his attitude. It must cast some doubt over him having a future at Everton.
I agree eggs
One thing all our new signings seem to have is a good attitude
They all have a point to prove and are settling in very well
A prima Donna attitude ( see Kevin Mirallas among others ) would disrupt what Dilva/Brands are trying to build and I don’t think it will be tolerated
Both Brands and Silva have said that the character of the player is something they assess very carefully before signing him

Meh, wouldn't read too much into that half from his perspective. Croatia were on the back foot throughout and the midfield isn't keeping the ball enough. Just needs to keep working and making himself available, surely he'll get a moment at some point.
