"-ic" is a diminutive suffix in Serbo-Croat ie. meaning something small where it refers to an object ( grad is a city; gradic is a town) or the "son of" when used in a name.

e.g Matic is son of Mate

It is like M(a)c in Irish and Scots which means son of.

We never saw the best of him due to the dire football we played. I think he’ll fit well into the more technical and attacking team we are transitioning into. I don’t think anyone expected our progress to be so swift and a loan was the right decision. Mr Brands will definitely be keeping tabs.

He's doing great on loan, getting experience in the CL against some very top teams (last years champions and semi finalists) and got himself back into a very good national squad playing with players like Rakotic and Modric. If he stayed here he wouldn't be getting in the team ahead of Siggy.

Only early on in the season when we had silly numbers unavailable with injuries. Niasse hasn't been in the match day squad since the West Ham game. And DCL and Vlasic play completely different positions.

You are also assuming that Vlasic would be showing the form he has in Russia. The chances are he wouldn't as he'd be nowhere near the pitch.

We clearly don’t have amazing options from the bench and I would prefer him to be a part of our squad as opposed to being farmed out on loan and getting a taste of a new club who turn his head a la Lookman.

We just need Sandro, Mirallas & Bolasie to find some form now, as we’ll be subsiding their ridiculous wages for the duration of their contracts with no hope of a fee.
