if he was not an Everton player would you recommend that we should try to sign him... I don't think so really . Would any of the teams above in the league be interested in him... unlikely.

Sometimes a player needs to be signed, developed and nurtured into a star

We don't have the luxury of signing 5-6 fully formed players, so developing lads like Vlasic is the way to go

In a seasons or so time, he could very well be a player looked at by those clubs

Even someone like Richarlison is still a work in progress, and he cost millions. How many of those clubs would have signed him after an iffy spell at Watford? Or Bernard? Or even Gomes after it didn't work at Barcelona?

We need to get over this "the clubs above us wouldn't sign xxx" attitude. It's absolute poison for a club in our position who have aspirations of kicking on

It's such a stupid viewpoint that we should only be looking at players who the Top six want, if only because most of them would likely choose the top six over us in the first place and we'd have to pay millions for them to not to, and we don't have that sort of money even with Moshiri being here

Developing younger players and rebuilding strugglers are our best bet at the moment

Well I think you’re forgetting that McGeady was 28 when we signed him from Spartak, Vlasic is a young guy who’s only just turned 21 and someone were looking to be able to step up into our first team next season.

I think the idea is to have him as well in current squad
There was too much of a mess to be cleared up this season to allow Vlasic to be integrated into in the summer
However next season with a clearer idea of who he has , who he needs , who he doesn’t need and players that he needs to bring in Vlasic and Henry ( work permit allowing ) will be looked at and assessed to see if they have a place in the squad
Hopefully we get Europa next season and Henry Vlasic JJK Etc could be ideal for the early qualifying rounds if they are deemed good enough
