Well, [Poor language removed] he is a fast mover then.

That is your assumption, based on a babelfish translation which may loose some of the literal meaning. The way I read it is they have had a 60 million euro bid accepted (and lets face it, who wouldn't accept 60 million) and he needs to pass a medical. No mention of personal terms anywhere.

60 million, could they make such an elementary mistake and not correct it for so long, because it is still up. Isn't 60 million euros about what Real Madrid payed for Zidane? Until Fernandes is seen with a Benfica/Everton/Valencia shirt, no worries here.

after saturdays game, i will worry my arse off until i see him in an everton shirt!!!!

Well apparently Valencia are notorious for announcing stuff before anything is even close to completion. So I think we need some clarification from the OS, and then some kind of admission of the way they do deals.

Maybe we need someone like Kenyon who brokers deals.

Guys, I think a collective deep breath is in order. I am not going to get myself worked up over this, because, believe it or not, he is not the only solution to our midfield problem. There ARE other players out there.

If we miss out on Fernandes, it will be regrettable, but not the end of the world. Anyway, unless it turns up he has actually signed for another club, I am not gonna loose any sleep.

I love the way everybody is jumping on this story like he has already signed.

so who else is the solution ????????????????????????

From XE.com

60,000,000.00 EUR

=

40,730,527.05 GBP

Euro United Kingdom Pounds 1 EUR = 0.678842 GBP 1 GBP = 1.47310 EUR

40 mill, I don't think so. If thats the case, why are we supposedly paying between 6 and 8million??

No 60million euros was the minimum fee clause in his contract. I think the OS should come out and say something.

are you having a laugh? isnt 60 million euros the approximate equivalent of £30 million POUNDS ?

we have allegedly bough him for £6 mill + £3mill. thats approx 18mill euros.

theres a possibility that his agent has got itchy feet and has touted him about at the price we agreed and as its much less that the £12 pounds all parties wanted previous then a bit more attention has come to him.

why would Everton Football Club announce anything about valencia?

if its true that the f.a have blocked this deal then all they have to do is bid is £6m like us surly.

its got [Poor language removed] all to do with valencia its the f.a which have [Poor language removed] it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well if the player has agreed terms, had a medical and trained at the club. We have announced that the player is very close to being signed.

We feel the need to update the fans on the process of Yakubu, so the club should announce an update on the process of the Fernandes deal.

They have to announce something.

Shitty news if true, thought he was ours, thought it was all done and dusted, cant wait to find out what the [Poor language removed] has gone wrong with this transfer.

Sporting Life:
Valencia have reached a deal to sign Everton transfer target Manuel Fernandes.

The Toffees believed they were close to landing the 21-year-old midfielder, who was impressive during a loan spell at Goodison Park last season.

But now Fernandes, a product of Benfica's youth academy, is set to sign a six-year deal at the Mestalla.

A statement on Valencia's official website on Sunday revealed: "Valencia have reached an agreement during this morning, pending medical tests, for the signing of Portuguese midfielder Manuel Henrique Tavares Fernandes for six years with a buy-out clause of 60 million euros.

"The 21-year-old midfielder, a product of the Benfica youth academy, will be presented in the next few days by the Mestalla club."

The fee for Fernandes is somwhere around 15million Euros (£10million), according to reports in the Spanish media.

Fernandes matched from the stands as Everton drew 1-1 with Blackburn on Saturday.

He had already successfully completed a medical at Goodison Park, and the contracts - which included issues of third-party ownership - were being studied by Premier League officials.

And as late as Friday the club were expecting clearance for Fernandes to be in their squad for the Blackburn game.

But the whole deal has been turned on its head, even though Everton had actually agreed to meet the asking price for 100 per cent of the player.

Previously it was believed that they had agreed to pay Benfica £6million for their half of Fernandes, with the third-party owners holding the other 50 per cent.

That initially caused problems for the Premier League, who are clamping down on all third-party transfers in the wake of the Carlos Tevez affair, and Everton then moved to buy out the other half from the owners.
