Non League Football

Some very talented players in the league I really enjoy it all the old fashioned grounds with a pint it’s a good to watch

I’ve really fell out of love with “Elite” football (even though I still go every week), and non-League has been a breath of fresh air.

If you get a chance, check out Mossley, same division as Cables, really good set up, great views, lovely people.

We’ve just been drawn to Stockbridge Steels, so that’s a new ground to visit.

I decided to go to Corinthian-Casuals the day before the Arsenal game and obviously it was called off, I rebooked my train tickets and hotel for tomorrow as I couldn’t get refunds and now……

I’m going to Wimbledon instead unless I jinx that

Can't afford to do West Brom away matches before Xmas so been to see my local non league side Halesowen Town, now top of the Northern Prem league, Midland Division. Ten quid a game and only a couple of mile fromm house so walking or use bus pass. Went to Wembley with them in the late 80's to see them win the FA Vase. Former West Brom forward and local Murderer Lee Hughes used to play for them.

Tbh, I’ve been in that gents and I’m surprised it is still standing, it’s pretty rickety anyway. The changing rooms and club house entrance are on the other side of the tree and that is the only access. Not surprised it was called off. The embankment behind is full of trees so it may be a long job.

Oxford City v Bath City in NLS tomorrow. Up the Romans!
Bath getting an absolute belting at half time 0-3 and looking like it would be 0-6 at FT. Amazing comeback to draw 3-3 plus ref injured and had to go off with 5 minutes left so Lino took over & someone from the crowd ( presumably qualified) ran the line. Great set up at Oxford City, well worth a visit.

Way the games going I can see me taken on non league footy in the next few years, once I am priced out off the new ground I imagine.

Saw quite a few blues at the Marine game today, who I don’t normally see.

I love Everton and they’ll always be my number one, but my season ticket for Marine cost £125, works out £8 a game.

It’s just great entertainment, yes the quality isn’t fantastic, but you always get a close game, and can have a pint with the players afterwards.

Loads of local sides around too.

Southport, Marine, Bootle, Cables, Skem, Burscough, Lower Breck, Litherland REMYCA.

Was there myself mate. Quite often am. Great atmosphere by the end of the game. I stand under the roof on the touchline, and everybody there was in stitches when somebody commented that their number six should have taken his pen with his head. lol
