My first game at Prescot Cables for 3 months, good to get back. Attendance of 874 v Skem United , cracking save by the goalie in the last minute rescued a 2-1 win.

Looks a decent ground.

Twenty years old but showing its age a bit. A community facility with a number of other plastic pitches (the main pitch is grass) but it’s not really being maintained. The main stand (pictured) looks directly into the setting sun.

Gave my season ticket to my son yesterday and went to Congleton Town v Pinchbeck Utd. in the FA Vase. Decent game and a good ground for that level.

Did South Shields away with Marine last week, and it was a really good set up.

Apparently there were over 2,000 there but not sure where they’ve got that figure from.



I’ll be swerving West Ham and going to Gainsborough next week, as I can’t bare thought of doing more Everton st the moment.

I’m dodging West Ham as well , I’ll go to Witton Albion with Cables.

Nice example of rail seating at Sandhurst FC. (Premier League - are you there?).
Sandhurst of the Combined Counties League (Step 4) have Bracknell (Step 3, Southern League Premier South) as tenants. Nice set up for yesterday’s FA Trophy game where the home team (Bracknell) scored in the 5th minute of the four minutes of stoppage time to upset Bath City of National League South. Good afternoon.

Be a handy game that. Even though j follow Marine, I have a soft spot for Cables, good set up, sound fans.

Witton Albion finally called off while I was on the train to Chester. All my contingency plans are off as well , Chester , Southport and Widnes , a couple of pints in Chester and the train home .

I watched the Gateshead v Wrexham game tonight ,a great win, 0-3 .Last season was so mixed , Wrexham failing at the end but Everton staying up . I’m hoping for both this season , Everton staying up , Wrexham winning the league ?
