"Roberto Martinez was happy with his team's attitude in his first game in charge of Everton, and feel's goal scorer Ross Barkley is an enormous talent.

It was a hard-fought point for Everton. I was speaking about Ross Barkley before the game and he scored a fabulous goal. He shifted it, got it onto his right foot and then got it onto his left and hit a ferocious shot from about 20 yards. I think this man is going to have a wonderful season. He's going to be a star, that young man. However, Ricky van Wolfswinkel popped up with a brilliant header and it was a good game. I fancied that could be a draw because it was two evenly-matched teams"

Jamie Redknapp there, proving he didn't actually watch the entire game..

Lot of teams will get nothing at Carrow Road this season. Strong element of luck about their second goal, some questionable defending on their first. Coleman becoming such an important player for Everton. Back this up with a home win against The Baggies and I will be very encouraged. Hopefully this manager will not drop young Barkley after his best game - as Moyes did after the Arsenal away game last season.

Lets hope he does not do a Moyes, we had Sunderland at Home, this is now the same situation if Gibson is fit for the next game, he should drop Osman if Gibson is fit.

Having only seen the MOTD highlights not completely able to comment, but Fellaini seemed disinterested and along with Osman and Pienaar they seemed not to have turned up. As for Osman I have always felt he was not good enough possibly apart from Hibbert the only Everton not to have the subject of serious transfwer talk. Which just goes to show what other clubs think of him, Yuk.

Fellaini played well mate.

Felli had a good game mate

We were not that bad, just inefficient.

I think Osman should be worried about keeping his place from the eleven who started, but would keep faith with the rest.

Fellaini should have done better for their first goal but other than that he was good. Read some stats somewhere that he had the most arial duels won, most passes in the middle of the field, most passes in the final third, most tackles won and a passing accuracy of 89%

Not seeing a stream of long balls launched up front for Fellaini is always going to make him appear not to be involved in the game as much. Apart from letting Whittaker go past him untouched -- he was probably leery of giving away a free kick, but still should have made a challenge -- he had a fairly solid game IMO.

Can't believe I am saying this but Felli is sorely underrated by some of our fans..... The shouts that they would be happy to see him go show a real lack of ambition and understanding of the impact (often unnoticed) he has for us.....

its not the worst of starts we played in general pretty good ...seen lots of the ball and was willing to work it around the pitch

whta diappointed me most about the game was ....

defending on both goals.....( Whitaker should have been stopped well before he lined himself up for the shot and likewise Redmond was given far too much room for 2nd goal)

the decision to play JELLY in was bypassed far too often for me and the decision to hold onto the ball and lay in 10yds sideways( regardless whether u think he was gonna score our play at times was too slow often the opportunity arose for a pass to be slipped in between 2 defenders but we just kept going across the pitch with it)
