Nothing has changed.

We sell Barkley today, get 2 players on loan. Works out we haven't spent a bean and nothing has then changed.
This would be a massive disappointment. Really would. Hopefully this doesn't happen (loans). Thought those days were gone. Yes, they're useful in certain situations (last minute and no time to finalise full deal), but otherwise it means we don't have the funds in place and/or its been bad planning. We need a quality or at least a good striker!

What is the level headed response though? Our performances have been pedestrian and although the results have been adequate only the Citeh result was above par. We have recruited well in some departments (Pickford and Keane stand out, for example) but the most obvious area of weakness is unresolved with 24 hours of the transfer window remaining. Maybe we will pull a rabbit out of a hat on the final day of the window but even that would betray a lack of forward planning given Lukaku's departure was a given and several months (if not longer) was available. For some reason a range of midfield and deep lying forward players were prioritised while the strikers now linked are a long way below the standards set by Lukaku and, although we didn't expect a like for like replacement, no one would have given Okaka any credence at the start of the window as a reasonable striking target. As it stands our team lacks pace, both literally and in the way we move the ball around, and lacks goals. A signing or two and an altered style of play may resolve these issues but to refer to people with concerns in this regard as "knee jerkers" does not seem fair to me.
I wan't really referring to solely GOT mate, I was taking into account some mass negativity on Twitter also.

I agree we need a striker, I agree we need pace, I would not be happy with Okaka on loan or permanent. I'm not saying be ultra positive when we could do a bit better, but let's not panic eh?

Sky give us our 15 mins of fame early window when everyone was quiet, now the big boys are flashing there cash while we are being linked with Watford and Cardiff strikers. While some things may have changed, nowhere near as much as we thought.
Reckon we should've gone for Mbappe too tbh. Or Neymar. NO AMBITION SORT IT OUT LADS SACK THE BOARD FRAUDHAD MOSHIRI FFS

?!?

And who exactly is flashing anything right now in the Prem? Tottenham signing Sanchez for a massively inflated price? Clucas going to Swansea for more than he's worth? Or City paying ridiculous amounts because they have infinite money?

It's excruciatingly hard to please Evertonians - we start off early with transfers and people are unhappy. If we leave it late - people are unhappy. If we break our transfer record with every next transfers - people are unhappy. Yeah we haven't gotten a striker in yet, but there is time.
It's a bit hard to have a big net spend when you've sold a player for 75 million, or is it 85 million.
Basically this.

Net spend bedwetters will have an exciting day/few days ahead.

Also LOL at the fact it's pointed out we're doing badly because of net spend and losing Lukaku, while, for example, Barcelona are +40m or so up, lost one of their best players and signed a bunch of nobodies.

Moshiri and Kenwright are exactly like Gold and Sullivan. Promise a lot and deliver little.

If this doesn't go as planned today, it will be the second failure of a vital window.

The man wouldn't be capable of pushing us on.

I'd join the growing list of Moshiri Out.

Bill and Mosh have started selling selling sex toys now ?

Barca still have Suarez and Messi, we have Sandro and Niasse.

For me there's not too much pressure on Koeman because we haven't brought in enough quality signings for me to be expecting us to be finishing in the top 4 yet.
We need to be signing a good few top players and the only one we have is an ageing Rooney who has started off well but after losing Lukaku is no where near enough.

Hey I agree with you.

You just love it though. And it's so funny.
I don't love it, far from it.

I'm just fed up of being promised that everything was going to be different, only for us to get lied to.

We've had 20 years of a conman being our owner, now it looks like we have another one.

Hopefully I will be proved wrong today.

I quite like loans. Lukaku was a loan, big Dunc was a loan, if Niasse had been a loan he would have been gone long ago...

Don't worry about it mate.

There's a good few of you on here who revel in Everton doing crap things so there's clearly a market for this type of thing.

Highly doubt you'll be proved wrong today either.
