What was our record signing under Kenwright? Lukaku? We have payed more than what we did for Lukaku, 3 times under Moshiri. Can you imagine spending 45 million on one player a few years ago.

What was our record departure under Kenwright ?

Fellaini at 27m.

Stones was sold for 50m, almost doubling that previous record. Lukaku was sold for 90m, tripling it. Had it not been for Barkley's antics last night, his departure would of also broke the transfer departure record under Kenwright.

So you can bang the ' we've broke the the clubs transfer record 3 times under Moshiri ' drum all day long. But also under Moshiri, we've broke the departure record twice.

I did worry if we sold lukaku and Barkley our most stand out players we may struggle this season - early days, but no proven goal scorer why pay 45 million for a playmaker when we have no goal threat?
DCL is a boost, but is still learning he needed a striker to learn off - no one came in yesterday its a concern to put it mildly!

Again some fair points made, but Koeman must have had assurances that funds were there for his other targets. Don't forget before we bought Sigurdsson, Koeman stated we had only spent £7m due to the sales of Lukaku, Duelofeu and Cleverley.

See where your coming from, but under Kenwright Lukaku would definitely have to have been sold first, before anyone was brought in. Plus our business done under Bill was mostly done at the end of the window and with 9 signings there's a good chance a couple of them would have failed the medical.

Not with the massive increase in TV money mate.

Departure record, I have heard it all now, we are building a team of players RK wants to turn into a successful side, it wont happen in two windows.
Teams aren't judged on their net spend, Everton FC is a business, Moshiri isn't showering money everywhere what makes you think thats what a successful owner should do ?

People need to get real and take a look at the long term view, sustainable academy players that can come through and either supply the team or be sold at profit.

Net spend merchants on this site and Twitter are turning me to drink, clearly can't think outside the parameters of a Net spend = success mentality.

Look its ok if you sell players , and fetch better ones in , but we never seem to do that lately do we?
In Lukakus case = NO ONE!

You keep focused on that long term plan while the rate of progress takes forever and the gap continues to increase between us and those above us and we're forced into selling our better players because we aren't good enough to compete and secure the Champions League football status which is necessary if you really want the squad to kick on. We've only been working on this long-term plan for about two decades, how much further into the long-term is this plan going to take?

Players aren't rushing to sign for Premier league teams playing in the Europa league. Look at Arsenal's struggle. A lot of players these days would rather hang onto a low wage and wait for their chance at CL rather than make a step up to Everton.

So what your really saying is you can't think of one striker who would get even close to Lukaku's goal scoring record that we could afford or who would come, but it's easier to blame the board.
No, I'm pretty sure what he's really saying is you're a tedious bore. Not agreeing with him of course, just trying to clarify things for you.

There was nobody available that wanted to come to a mid table side that will get 7th if we are lucky and no CL football, give me some names ?

EXACTLY lad.

So how do you expect a long-term plan to work when as soon as we get a good player in the squad they immediately want to jet off to the teams above us. See Stones, Lukaku, Barkley.

If we can't bring in quality of the same level to replace them we're going to be fighting to sustain our level rather than improve it.
