I think a lot has changed. We're close to a new ground, we've definitely bought in better quality players than we've had for a while and, despite the obvious, we look stronger (on paper) imo. Yet to see that in our performances but when you change half a team you're always gonna get issues. Keane is top notch, Pickford looks like he is too. Klaassen is gonna surprise you all by being bloody ace once he gets his feet under the table, Rooney is still Rooney (not gonna mention last night though), Sandro has had niggles and will work his way in. Plus we've got the mightiness that is Idrissa gueye, the man that would tackle a mountain and Morgan who is just sexy football personified.

I said we'd changed. I didn't say we'd finish any higher. Yeah, without that striker, I reckon we'll struggle to do better than 6th. Arsenal are there for the taking but I can't see us near the rest of 'em. Maybe January will surprise us. Don't hold your breath of course. It was most definitely a balls-up not bringing in a forward. Not a "Rom Replacement" as I don't think there's any such thing at our level, but we needed more, for sure. LB and/or LCB cover was mighty important too. We've defended reasonably ok until Chelsea, despite some mad moments from our elder statesmen so hopefully we'll continue to do so. Gets easier for us in a few games time too and we're defo the best of the rest.

Whatever happens we need to be behind them now and see where December has us lying. We've got undoubted quality in the side and if Ronny can get 'em clicking then we'll do ok. Not what we all wanted, but I doubt we're gonna be behind the likes of WBA or Southampton or Stoke like many are suggesting.

So stock up on rubber pants cos we're in for a bit of a ride.

From my own personal standpoint, I think I'm mostly just disappointed with the message from the club versus what actually seems to be happening. Since Moshiri's arrival, we've heard 'project' and 'ambition' almost none stop, then there's Bill essentially saying that if there is a player out there that the manager wants, we'll go and get him. What the window (especially the latter part) seemed to show is that yes, the purse strings have been loosened, but only marginally, and we're a long, long way from dining at the top table yet. Maybe the club needs to take more of a measured approach to the idea that yes, Moshiri being on board will help the club, but nothing major may change in terms of attracting major talent and spending until the new stadium, or Usmanov (just kidding) arrives.

Umm mate, is he being paid thousands of pounds to identify them for a living or is he just a supporter of the club who feels let down by the people we actually pay to identify those players professionally.

Don't be a tit.
Forum members are going on and on about signing a CF to replace Rom.Then blaming Walsh and whomever they can think to point a finger at for not doing it.Guess what, there is nobody around who we would A.Have the huge amounts of money to pry him away from his club (see Sanchez and City) B.We don't have the profile/CL football to do it either. And your calling me a tit?

So what your really saying is you can't think of one striker who would get even close to Lukaku's goal scoring record that we could afford or who would come, but it's easier to blame the board.
Nope, I'm saying that your thesis that there are/were no capable forwards in world football who are both available and willing to play for a premier league club in European competition is laughable. I have tried to explain how me naming one or more forwards is a pointless endeavour but you seem to think that it is not for some reason. I imagine you will respond to this post by once again asking me to name a forward for some reason, I would caution you against this as I will not be doing so, not, as you assert, because no such humans walk the earth but because, once again, it has no bearing on what goes on at Everton football club.

Forum members have no input into the recruitment process, Walsh does that's why he is getting blame mate.

You're saying there is nobody around.

Llorente could have done a job for us, though we may have burned some bridges with the Sigurdsson negotiations.

I mean for Christ's sake every team out there plays with strikers, this ridiculous suggestion that there is NOBODY out there who fits our criteria is laughable and pathetic from everyone attempting to play it off that way.

It isn't a coincidence we've used the same word to describe it.

I think you know exactly what I'm saying, but then ignorance is bliss.

Sorry but your point didn't make sense at all to me either. Sounded you got lost in the argument tbh

You are being remarkably facetious in trying to maintain that people are browned off just because we didn't get a top striker as good as Lukaku, which of course was a big task.

As has been pointed out there's a world of strikers out there capable of making a go of it in this league. Whilst it's fine to say we didn't or couldn't get such and such because of whatever reason, it is pretty poor that we failed on the main objective during this window.

We are left hoping a youngster and a newbie to the league start firing, rather than looking forward to seeing how many goals our new main man might grab. That's not a good starting point for Operation Break into the top 4.

In short, it's very Everton and it's a bit odd to go out of your way to defend the club for doing what they often do.

Well if you don't have a constructive argument, best always to fall back on the childish insult.Hope things work out better for you on FIFA 17 signings are far easier in the cyber world.
You really are obsessed with FIFA aren't you? I don't play the game myself but I assume you analyse data, scout players, buy them and play them. Am I approximately correct? If so, it's weird that you use the playing of that game as a criticism of people who won't pointlessly name players, if the same posters were randomly naming forwards I suspect you would say "this isn't FIFA we can't just go around signing whoever we want" (except there would be more errors in grammar and syntax). Why do you hate FIFA 2017 so much, did your parents not get it for your birthday or something?
