Lukaku £85-90M
Barkley £35M
McCarthy £15M
Deulofeu £12M
Niasse £10M
McGeady £4M

...about £160M-£165M

Eh?

Not one cent of that, if even accurate/likely, has been paid.

In fact, the top two have contract offers on the table of circa £240k pw between them.

The reality, is that we have broken the UK transfer record for a goalie.

Apparently, though I have no idea how close the deal is, have agreed terms for another £30m for the Ajax captain.

By selling Cleverly. (He is the only one any hard cash has generated.)

If we sold Joel and Stek for 50m and then signed Pickford for 30m people would still complain about net spend.

In fact, being more realistic, we have got more money than we are apparently spending on Sandro... net spend doesn't mean not improving the club and, in fact, a good business probably wouldn't throw loads of money at something if they don't have to!

We'll find out at the end of August.

What we can say even at this stage though is that we have a lot of money about to come in from player sales.

Have matters moved swiftly for once in a summer? Yes. That is t be welcomed. But the overall financial health of the club under new ownership will be determined once and for all after we know what's gone and what's come in and what the balance is.

so why dont you wait until then before casting judgement?

£70m in the first week of the Summer window and £30M+ in the last winter window is exactly what Everton have been doing over the years. They've also constantly paid off their debt whilst purchasing the land for a new stadium.

Quite.

We buy the players the boss et al want. We sell the players they dont want, or the players who want out. We aim to get top dollar for sales.

If that is a net spend, or not, I am seriously not in the remotest bit arsed about it.

Lads its not about net spending, positive or negative but to have good management and better squad in the end.Finances are for the accountants, football on the pitch is for us - the fans. You can have £200m net spend and less balanced and overall weaker squad.
I've long said this.

Balance sheets do not arouse me.

So, we're now expecting three signings this week.

Goalkeeper - 100% needed after last year's clowns @Joey66
Midfielder - not hugely convinced we need this Klassen
Striker - we definitely needed one with Valencia and Kone gone and DCL needing a lot of work. Niang good start but Sandro pls pls pls

Defender next then (Keane?) and that's the squad improved. Arguably all four / five will be straight into the starting eleven.
