My old mans in the seats in the Old Goodison Road Stand in that picture,he's still got his season ticketThe title 1963 picture, was in that crowd, happy days.
Fans rave about John stones if John Stones turns out to be half as good as John Hurst above I will be made up a defender who could fetch the ball out of defence, and make and score goals, and solid as centre back along side Labby the Captain!
If we had a back four and keeper of West,Wright,Brown,Hurst,Labone I think we may have had a slightly better season this time aroundFans rave about John stones if John Stones turns out to be half as good as John Hurst above I will be made up a defender who could fetch the ball out of defence, and make and score goals, and solid as centre back along side Labby the Captain!
Nice one mate, I was in that crowd looking up into the main stand. My old mans in the seats in the Old Goodison Road Stand in that picture,he's still got his season ticket
Could be. Thought it might have been Fulham at first but the socks look like they could well be claret and blue. Can't make out the crest but it looks (to my poor old eyes) like a bird which made me think of Norwich. However I'm pretty sure they were nowhere near the first division back then so it would have to be a cup game.I think thats v Burnley, looks like Peter Mellor and the fella between him and Jimmy Husband?.............I may be wrong but I reckon a very young Dobbo
We have 2 good fullbacks and two decent centre halfs now , but no one like Westy! If we had a back four and keeper of West,Wright,Brown,Hurst,Labone I think we may have had a slightly better season this time around
He always goes on my dad that Roy vernon scored a header that day, apparently it was about as rare as that eclipse we had last weeklolNice one mate, I was in that crowd looking up into the main stand.
Very rare a header from Royston, can't actually remember ( if you could find footage, would be nice) something's stay crystal clear and other things become clouded ,over the years, I will be 80 this year, and will keep going while I have my health. He always goes on my dad that Roy vernon scored a header that day, apparently it was about as rare as that eclipse we had last weeklol

I don't think there is any footage of it,but there is a "Classic matches thread" on here mate,I couldn't believe my luck a few weeks ago I found Alex Youngs header v Spurs that 1963 title year and Ballys debut at Fulham 1966 which are in there, good for you mate,my old fella is 77 this year, still goes and enjoys it,it may not be great at the moment but its still Everton isn't it?Very rare a header from Royston, can't actually remember ( if you could find footage, would be nice) something's stay crystal clear and other things become clouded ,over the years, I will be 80 this year, and will keep going while I have my health.
I have some great memories, shame the youngsters have not seen us win something, perhaps next year aye x
I thought that was Man City's old away kit at first but on second thoughts I think its Coventry...their old goalie Glazier to the left of the ball, that yard-dog Barry to the right of it. What an impressive sight that old Enclosure is...mustve put the fear of God into opponents.
