Having said that , Gary Jones would rather we lost on a Saturday if he didn’t play so he might be picked the following week. .... That's direct from the player himself!

Bingham lost the dressing room - Even Bob Latchford in a book I am reading stated a few of the model professionals were called. For a meeting with the chairman - The Latch related it was time for him to go far too negTive a bad training programme others backed him, and he was gone days later ......
Enter Gordon Lee - Clough was approached turned us down as he did not like the thought of working for John Moores,
Bobby Robson also turned us down - enter Gordon Lee.....the nearly man!

Just noticed Terry Darracott is he on happy pillslol @Dario Terracotta your thoughts pleaselol
Or the book I am reading now mentioned most of that squad were happy with their manager apart from the magician Makenzie ;)
After Bingham went as he trained them running till they were physically sick in training. - evidently Lee was a breath of fresh air on arrival , and under his tenure !

The 1977 League Cup final needed three meetings between Aston Villa and Everton to find a winner, with a 0-0 draw at Wembley followed by a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough. Eventually Villa claimed victory in the third match at Old Trafford - here, Brian Little slams the ball into the net beyond Everton goalkeeper David Lawson for a late winner in the second replay. Villa were 3-2 victors and tasted success in the competition for the second time in three seasons -
bad memories -whats @Dario Terracotta doing lol-

Hadn't realised how close the ball was to Lawson when Little tapped it in! Poor old Dario let the ball run past him so that Lawson could hoof it downfield for one last attack before what would have been the first domestic trophy to be decided by a penalty shoot out.
