Yes I certainly did from the age of 6 years old 1963 - the defining moment was when Bally came here - he moved to the wing no 7 to accommodate Joe Royle - to see Bally and the master in tandem the GV will stick in my mind forever , and the Gladwys Street admiration for him was tremendous - banners galore etc he was special ......
Roy Vernon, and the GV were a special combination too - Vernon always admired when he got wet he looked a shrimp of a player he was lethal with both feet , and only missed one pen out of many - maybe he got overlooked a wee bit because of the GV......

reading Tommy Lawton Biography atm - he stated they got called fit to burn by not serving on the front lines , and playing in mixed war teams in the War years being called up as PE teachers etc....
