That's correct Eggs. I liked our away kit that day too, a real classic that....thinking this might be the 1970 Charity Shield game at Stamford Bridge. We won the game 2-1 and both our scorers (Whittle and Kendal are visible in this picture).

Must have played havoc with your goal hanging when the new law came in in 1907 esklolThe rule (3 defenders including goal keeper) came into force in 1866, prior to that you were offside if you were ahead of the ball.
It was in 1907 that the rule relating to being offside only in the opponents half came into play.
