70-71; thin end of the wedge. It had been 3/- 15p for 7 or 8 yrs then a 33% increase.

what year are we talking here? 1960s?
70 plus thousand reported to have been in The Old Lady that day,I was 8 and went with a school friend whose Dad was an ex-player (Jackie Grant) we were sneaked in with him on his ex-players complimentary season ticket in the Gwlady's St stand,although for some reason I can't recall we both ended up sitting on a crash barrier in the Goodison Rd terrace

My older Brother was there with my late father, it was crammed tight!
