You are thinking of Steve Melledew. We signed him after he impressed in a pre season friendly at Rochdalealways liked this team photo. Have it framed. And has pride of place in my man cave(spare bedroom). With the rest of my Everton memorabilia. Also got a miniature printed. Keep that in my wallet.

Yes but left after the war divorced us, and later stated it was a mistake he should have divorced his wife, he helped us to a title a great CF by all accounts.....Played for Everton through the war years. So he hung about for about five to six years.
