Sandy on the attack at GP against the Tangerines. With the recently departed great Tony Waiters
foiling his efforts. 1966.
Could well be as he didn't depart BR till 67 and unless injured he would have been playing in this game. If so he did his job as Pool went back up the coast with a 1-0 win.
...for some reason, I can recall Emlyn Hughes playing left back for Blackpool at Goodison. That could well be the game.
His debut was certainly at Blackpool in 65/66. Not, however in the FA cup, we didn't lose any FA cup games in 65/66. It was a league game, Joe was 16 the Cat dropped the GV and played young Joe. We lost and the Cat was jostled getting on to the coach after the match.65/66 more likely - wasn't the infamous 3rd round cup tie at Blackpool in 1966 his debut?
No... Joe Royle made his debut at Blackpool 15 th January 1966 in a league game and the only other game that season was Dirty Leeds away in April.65/66 more likely - wasn't the infamous 3rd round cup tie at Blackpool in 1966 his debut?
