There is, it briefly shows what looks like Young...who was most probably the offside offender...heading the ball back across the goal to Vernon...who definitely wasn't offside...to slot it in.We did score a perfectly good goal (Vernon I think in the St End) but the ref called it offside. There's a very grainy bit of film around somewhere.
I often wondered why they went bust...I know there was footballing costs and wages to pay even at that level.I played against him v South Liverpool we got beat 14 - 2 they disbanded as the whole club closed bankrupt, I must have kicked him a good few times lol
I thought it was Norman Hunter who stood on the ball for their winner ?
Yep. Just watched it on YouTube & he does stand on the ball but it squeaks through to the Pole who eventually crosses for the goal.Don't know if he stood on it. Seem to remember he went in for an unwise, badly timed tackle, missed everything, allowing the Pole to gallop up the pitch & cross. I could well be talking absolute rubbish though!!!
Yeah, seen that last night.Yep. Just watched it on YouTube & he does stand on the ball but it squeaks through to the Pole who eventually crosses for the goal.
@Jamo Martinez ... Youtube also has a clip of the Poles at home where Bobby does his thing.
I posted the clip from the newspaper in the 1-1 draw where Norman Hunter admitted the clanger ......we never qualified for the World Cup ......Don't know if he stood on it. 3 or 4 secs long, but doesn't show where everybody was when the ball was kicked.
Much stricter rules then, plus a forgeign Reff plus the Italians were less than squeaky clean on the bribes front... allegedly...back then.
The Team were, due to injuries and poor form, only a shadow of the team that beat Fulham to win the league...we didn't even have a proper fullback and had to play a kid...a very good kid...in the 2nd leg and lost 1-0 over 2 legs to what was to become the European team of the Mid 60s.
Didn't Celtic best the over the hill version of Inter in 1967 in Lisbon??
Everton That
57 yrs on and here we are STILL with no fullback and playing Fulham again
Everton That X 2

With Goodison and anfield only a bus ride away, they couldn't charge too much or people would not go...the few that did
iirc, the social club was the chief support and that made money hand over fist...but again allegedly... I'm just not too sure whose hand and whose fist it was in the till and how much made it to the footballing side.
Again, iirc, the social club and football club split... I'm not sure whose idea that was either.
