Boekelberg Stadium in Moenchengladbach, Borussia Moenchengladbach versus FC Everton 1:1, scene of the match f.l.t.r. unkonown player of Everton, who is Keith newton Howard Kendal, scored our important away goal!
The 2nd leg was historic I was there

Yes they were a class team favourites for the trophy and we got rid of them - when they came to goodison on a very wet night , and moggsy scored from a simle cross shot I was right behind it and our fans were gloating this is going to be easy it was not!

..Andy Rankin did a Robles before Robles. I was there too, one of those nights when you could see the steam coming out of the crowd and the colour blue had that special aura.

His penalty save was a truly momentous moment. Most people did not even know the rules for the pennos!! Delirium! BMG were a cracking side. Typical us we fluffed lines to truly rubbish Panathanaikos.

No no 9 up there with Bernie the Bolt Wright in being useless imo!
we lost a very future expensive a young David Johnson in a part exchange deal + cash for a heap of bleep!

I seem to remember that Johno, whittle and a fullback whose name escapes, me were all moved on pretty sharpish as a result of the Holly Lodge School Girl Scandal
btw they were all over 16 so no 'real' bad shennanigins, just a bit risqué for the time and the old fashioned Catt.

Watching this player play the game was an absolute privilege. I was too young to remember Kendall, Ball and Harvey - after watching footage of Ball play he seems very similar to Reidy. Those lucky enough to witness both - who was better?

The Reid/Bracewell partnership has never been bettered at Everton, not even close.

1970 / 1985 = dead heat.
1963 = a neck
1987 = half a length.

dead heat = tie break required. so we change sports / analogies and go to snooker.

best of 39 frames.

1985 =20
1970 =19

1970 would score a bag load of 147's, but 1985 would win the close games, by a snooker or one colour 53-49

Decision: 1985
Reason: They hated losing a bit more.

given 1 go in the tardis I would go back to watch 1969-70... better music and proper beer.

and why not...cue barry norman music.

Good reasoning degsy agree with most of it but that 69/70 midfield and Brian laboneand of course big Joe up front were something else music was far better but there was no Stella artists to be had
