Re 69 / 70 v 84 / 85 ... I can only do it by players (it's a simple system for a simple soul like me). On that basis,

So '70 wins.

If it had to be the teams as they were, again, '70 by a stretch. Absolutely no way of proving it, of course, but I think the midfield of '85 would have been severely messed about.
