Think you right they went from being round , to square and having no stanchions in front lot thicker , more like goal posts, much better for sitting or leaning on as well.

Alan Waddle (cousin of Chris) scrambling on the ground in the game where he fluked the winner just minutes after Mick had a goal wrongly disallowed.

Probably the only goal he scored for them.

Big Fred Pickering was really underrated, 70 goals in 115 games, pity a long term knee problem blighted his time with us.- he watches the master Dixie Deanno 9 kick off in his his testermonial off - only 30 years too late .... It was a Merseyside England v Scotland game made up from the two teams from over the park & Everton -
