Everton v Man City, with the Main Stand almost completely reconstructed
Of course the stand was designed to be without the three pillars holding up the roof. Don't know why that fell apart once it actually got to the actual construction phase. Maybe because of the 'kink' in the footprint that was there in the original Goodison Rd stand and still is.I wonder if anyone was in the crowd that game and in the back of the main stand and thought "bloody hell it's a bit crap with all these obstructed views"

I was still displaced into the Park End when this was taken. My new ticket was about 10 rows behind the pillar you can see there. My first reaction was to like being lower so closer to the pitch but the pillar took out a lot of action in the St End half of the pitch.....grrr from the word go from me and especially my late dad. Utd's new stand being built just 3/4 years earlier had no obstructions. The did not have escalators though!!! The look on some away fans' faces at them!!!I wonder if anyone was in the crowd that game and in the back of the main stand and thought "bloody hell it's a bit crap with all these obstructed views"
