.....not sure who this is, thought perhaps Ferenc Bene the great Hungarian striker (sadly now passed away).

...yep, Derek Parkin I think. Decent player.

They weren't bad that Wolves team ....Kenny Hibbitt, Dougan, Mike Bailey, John Richards. Mustve been alright as I can remember them instantly. Having said that I can still remember 'that' Leeds team off the top of my head.... Sprake Reaney Cooper Bremner Charlton Hunter Lorimer Giles Jones Clarke Gray. sub (usually) Madeley. Cant forget that 3-2 game we went when I was a kid 69/70 so just looked it up and found this clip....all the fellas in shirts and ties in the Paddock when Giles takes that corner.

...I was a that game. When interviewed Jack Charlton always says it was us and not the reds or United who were their main rivals.

Great find.

Leeds first goal IMO was a foul by J Charlton. Charlton was forever doing that standing right in front of GKs obstructing them. BTW I was at that game.

I got sucked in again when I looked for that Leeds game....this made my heart sing. Cordon Bleu Footy. Old Ken Wolstenholme knew class when he saw it ...what a team we had. Theres two other parts to this as well !!

He used to lumber up the pitch when they had a corner and everyone you to say "oh ere ya - heres the giraffe". The obstruction rules were stricter then and also none of this shielding the ball between a player down the pitch till it goes out of play I recall.

Cheers Jacob for finding that. I was at that game in GSE. This is part of what I have been saying elsewhere in the forum. Today, the supporters over the last 10-20 years do not know what it is to experience in GP a crowd of 65,000, it was unbelievable and this vid does come across very well in showing what it was like.

.....wow, some talent there at the Old Lady. beckenbauer, Uwe zeleur, Lev Yashin, Pele, Garrincha. Wonder what that lot would be worth today, still legends and all gracing our famous old stadium.

Never graced that other ground as I recall.

Don't know abut the animal word, in GSE we usually used a four letter word. for him.

Ha I can imagine...but I was only little and taken in the Upper Bullens for treats. I made up for it in the Street in my teens though the matches cant ever compare with these. Those crowds as you say were something else....even on these old clips, the noise is tremendous. The cameras/ sound pickup are on Goodison Road old stand obviously...wonder if that made a difference the crowd size apart (know we had much bigger capacity then). What a legacy we have from those days.
