….notice the old prefabs. I used to walk past a load of prefabs in Prescot St on my way to school. They were supposed to be temporary after the war but families lived in them until the 70s.

Yes that FB page is great.…it is & my old street behind that tram. The building that housed the bank is still there. Great pic, Matey, a new one to me (saw it on FB an hour or so ago).

No mate it wasn’t a good look, use to hate working around where I lived just in case I was seen, even in the early 70’s it was antiquated.It wasn’t a good look was it. My mates used to get the piss taken out them every time they pushed that cart about.
Haha, the bank certainly was a bit of a circus at times! I remember a new pub was built along Everton road called Henglers Circus. It didn’t last long, built around 1980, knocked down probably ten years ago.….interesting for @Bazlar @Lao and @Alanbileysfeathercut that the Hippodrome building started life as ’Henglers Grand Cirque’ in 1876. It closed in 1901and turned into a cinema. I suppose @Lao can say he started his working life in a circus;
