Great thread @Eggs @Joey66 and the other contributors!
I lived in Wallasey as a boy and went to school in Birkenhead but we went shopping to Liverpool often and I had worked in Owen Owen for a holiday job and, later, in Hendersons. The job was easy, lots of pretty girls, but the pay was poor. (Building sites were better paid but harder.)
I worked in Hendersons in 1962 selling luggage, after The Fire! As it was shown in the departmental books. Mostly, trunks for sons of older ladies, for their offsprings' journey abroad.….was Hendersons off London Rd? I think I did a few weeks there in the summer holiday myself, maybe ‘73 or ‘74.

I think Henderson’s was in Church Street, a few doors up at the Whitechapel end. When it was refurbished after the fire it became Binns.….was Hendersons off London Rd? I think I did a few weeks there in the summer holiday myself, maybe ‘73 or ‘74.
