….the ‘One O’Clock Gun’ in Birkenhead. Could hear this clearly booming out from my house in Everton during the ‘60s.

I remember my dad walking us down there and the gun or whatever apparatus which by then created the noise was housed in a nondescript small building right on the edge of the dock wall. Would have been around 1960.
